I discovered mountain hiking a few years ago, and friends and family expressed concern at my tendency to hike alone simply because I am female. But I refused to let anyone tell me that I couldn't hike alone.  I was entranced by the peace and beauty of the mountains.  I loved the nature and sounds around me.  I continued to hike.  I explained to them that I am a hiker, and hikers hike.  I was going to go.  If someone wanted to join me, they were welcome, but if not, I would be alone.
I recently came to realize that while some of my friends and family would like to hike with me, they are unable to do so because of health, time constraints, other engagements, and some just don't like to exercise around the dirt and the bugs.
So... I thought the best way to show those around me exactly what it is that I do and why I do it, I decided to begin this Blog.

Each week, I will post my most recent hike with pictures, information about the trail and its difficulty, the scenery and views, the flora and fauna, the location, and why you should go on this hike.  But, if life gets in the way, you can at least see what I was able to do there.  I hope you enjoy reading through this blog as I continue to update and improve it.  Please send me your comments.
